Spent a day out in the city and hit up the other two remaining Gagosian Galleries in New York. The large space on 21st Street was pretty impressive; it was how I’d ideally picture an Apple warehouse or distribution facility, a big white box. Then the Madison Ave space was just out of control. I went into the Spot Shop first and saw some of the best pieces yet. Placing the series on skateboard decks was really funny to see for some reason, probably because it’s so simple and obvious. I had a good talk with the lovely office clerk. It turns out she’s another transplant from Southern California experiencing her first year in NYC. So far she was the most real, wishing me a very honest warm “good luck.”
